New Bradwell St Peters have finally registered their first league win in more than a year after beating Willen in comprehensive fashion.
Darren Turner and Gary Ollard have been rebuilding the side after a disastrous season last year, which saw them go the entire campaign without a victory.
But since dropping to Spartan South Midlands Division Two, they have began to find their feet again.
A hat-trick from Frederick Yinka-Kehinde, two more from Demarlo Smith and further strikes from Abdul Hakin and Brandon Tembo put a lackluster Willen side to the sword on Saturday, lifting St Peters to 10th in the table while Willen are rock bottom.
“It’s great to get a win,” said manager Turner. “Willen are having a tough time of it at the moment so we played them at the right time, but we need to get a few more under us to really get our season going.”
Elsewhere in Division Two, Old Bradwell lost 5-2 to Mursley United.
In Division One, Stony Stratford reversed their early poor fortunes with back-to-back victories.
On Saturday, Stony were 2-1 winners over Langord, courtesy of goals from Richard Worsford and Christopher Wreh.
And they made it two in a row on Tuesday night with a comfortable 3-0 win against Crawley Green. Wreh was once again in the goals, while Stuart Deeble and Luke Little also got in on the act.
The wins moves them off the bottom and up in to 11th place.
