The chairman of the city’s Sunday League says he is very optimistic about the future as several new teams have come forward to join for the 2013-14 season.
Nine new teams have so far applied to join the league for next season, and there is still the opportunity for more to do so.
Chairman Ron James said: “Following a highly successful advertising campaign in the Citizen, the future is looking very rosy.
“We are excited about the prospect of welcoming the new clubs and I’m convinced that the hard work and sheer determination of the league to improve our standards, both on and off of the field, is now reaping benefits.”
If clubs want to join they must do so quickly as all will be interviewed to assess their suitability. The next round of interviews will be on May 29.
