Usual scorers Dom Lawless and Darryl Smith did the business for Swans, but it was debutant Kelvin Osei-Addo, who came off the bench at half time, who stole the show with not only a goal but the man of the match award to boot.

Lawless continued his fine form this season by opening after just nine minutes, latching on to Ollie Wilkinson’s through ball, rounding the Colney keeper to roll the ball into the empty net.

There was an element of luck to their equaliser though, as Jack Woods’ free kick on the left-hand touchline evaded everyone, hitting the post before bouncing in.

Lawless almost poked Swans into the lead on the stroke of half time, but saw his effort strike the base of the post.

There was an air of excitement for the second half as Osei-Addo appeared, and Newport hemmed the visitors into their own half as the looked to retake the lead. Lawless saw three decent strikes blocked before Osei-Addo pounced on a loose ball, racing clear of the London defence before thundering home to restore the lead 13 minutes from time.

And Newport made their spot in the fourth round safe in stoppage time when Lawless beat two men on the by-line, pulling back for Smith to tap home the third.
