Woburn and Wavendon Lionesses U16’s capped an almost perfect season on Sunday as they defeated Garston 4-0 at AFC Kempston to complete a sensational treble.
Having already wrapped up the league title with a game to spare as well as the County Cup, goals from Rosie White-McColl, Millie Glenn Molly Hughes and Georgie Payne’s typical centre forward finish claiming a touch on the line brought victory in the Beds and Herts League Cup Final.
Of their 25 competitive games, the girls scored 143 times and conceded just 17, and incredibly losing just once.
But to make the feat all the more remarkable, the majority of the Lionesses squad are still U15s and playing in an age group above.
Next season the club once again will be running 8 teams to accommodate girls from 7/8 years old through U18’s to Ladies, see www.ww-fc.co.uk .
