It was a five-star performance from Newport Pagnell Town as they breezed past Langford in the FA Vase first round on Saturday.
The 5-1 win over their Bedfordshire opponents sets up a clash against Spartan South Midlands Division 1 side Hillingdon Borough on Saturday September 21.
The Swans scored all five goals in the second half at Forde Park as they put their opponents to the sword to secure their second round place.
John Thorpe came close to opening the scoring in the opening 45 minutes, but saw his header cleared off the line.
Newport put the hammer down in the second period though, as David Silver opened the scoring neatly sliding the ball past the Langford keeper.
Swans doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Lee Jones finished well.
Langford pulled a goal back when the Newport defence failed to clear a free-kick into the danger zone.
But it didn’t take them long to restore their two goal lead as substitute Danny Nicholls made it 3-1.
Despite Langford coming close on a couple of occasions, Newport put the game out of reach when Lukasz Filipiak added a fourth.
But the best was yet to come as Jones bagged his second of the afternoon with a beautiful lob over the Langford keeper to complete the rout.
Newport Pagnell Town now enjoy two home games in a row, starting on Saturday as they take on Desborough at Willen Road.
