Williams wants to be at the heart of Dons' defence

George Williams is one of MK Dons' most versatile defenders, but he knows where he wants to play.

The 26-year-old can play anywhere across the back line, and certainly holds his own in all of them. From playing as a right wing-back, a left wing-back, at centre back and on Saturday as a traditional full-back, Williams says prefers taking up a spot at the heart of the defence.

"I don't mind where I play, but I'm really enjoying centre back," he said. "It's my favourite position I think. There is less running – I let Callum (Brittain) and Regan (Poole) do all of that! I really enjoy it in the middle of the pitch, I feel I can get more involved.

"I like to be vocal and that helps being in the middle."
