Newport Pagnell Youth U14s 1 Willen Juniors Pumas U14s 3

Newport Youth were again denied a league win after they were beaten 3-1 at home by Willen Pumas.

Newport began the game well with Kye Malpass and Jack Fisher creating early chances, however passes ended up being too long for the players waiting, or hit the side netting.

Aiden Campbell also created chances for Newport but they either went over or were held by the Pumas keeper. The first half ended 0-0 but Newport could be satisfied with the amount of chances they created.

Both teams made attacking starts to the second half, with yet another Campbell chance sandwiched in-between two Pumas chances which were saved brilliantly by Liam Viljoen.

Eventually the deadlock was broken as an amazing run from Kye Malpass ended in a shot which was knocked away by the Pumas keeper, but only into the path of Aidan Campbell who capitalised to make it 1-0.

Newport’s heads went up but the Pumas lived up to their name as they pounced to score two goals in quick succession to take control. The momentum then swung Willen’s way and they soon added to their lead to make the score 3-1.

So despite starting well and creating enough chances, Newport still find themselves looking for a league win this season.
