Racing over the Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race course, it is a majot event in the winter rowing calendar.

On Saturday, Heidi Towse, Lou Rivett, Jayne Skeith, Cath Keeling and guest cox, Jordan, powered down the 6.8km course, competing in the popular IM2 category. They finished 26th out of 48 overall, and a very impressive second out of 11 provincial clubs. Also racing IM2 were Jo Heywood, Alice Draper, Emma Wilson and Charlie Allen, coxed by Chris Wilson. The time was not quite as fast but still good for a new crew with two recently returning rowers as they claimed eighth provincial crew.

On Sunday the veterans enjoyed much drier and sunnier conditions. Karen Wilson, Paula Heywood, Helen Smith and Suzanne De Maine, coxed by Chris Wilson had a strong, consistent row, overtaking two crews to finish second in Masters D.

The mixed coxless four of Steve Lawson, Clare Lawson, Cherry Kemp and Rod Bennett were not deterred by being the only entrant in this category and completed the course in style. Cherry coped amazingly well, not being a sweep rower.
