Gold for MK's rowing Masters duo
Paula Heywood and Karen Wilson returned to MK Rowing Club with gold around their necks after after the World Masters Rowing Championships.
The pair were part of a composite eight , coxed by club captain Chris Wilson, who took the win.
Over the following three days the women’s squad represented by Heidi Towse, Lou Rivett, Jayne Skeith, Cath Keeling, Karen Wilson, Paula Heywood, Helen Smith, Suzanne De Maine and Becky Tommey went on to achieve no less than three second places in the coxed 4’s at Masters C, D and E, in each case being beaten by strong Estonian and Latvian crews.
In smaller boats, Helen Marshall and Jenny Searle continued the run of ‘nearly medals’, with impressive second places in the C singles and B & C doubles.
