Harlequins on top form

All of the hard work put in by the gynmasts from Harlequin paid off as they landed a score of top results at a regional tournament in Ipswich.

Travelling to Pipers Vale for the Regional Tumbling Competition, there was plenty to celebrate with top performances from so many different age groups.

All the gymnasts had to perform three tumble runs which were added up to count towards their overall score.

National Level 1 age 9/10.-Rebekah Allsopp overall score of 81.15 1st position, Harriette Hewitt overall score of 52.35 coming 6th.

National 1 age 13+ - Ciara Craig overall score of 77.10 coming 4th.

Men’s National 1 age 11/12 – Joshua Gale overall score of 74.70 2nd position, Jayden Courtney-Robin overall score of 48.30 coming 4th.

National 2 age 9/10 – Clare Stringer overall score of 78.75 1st position.

National 2 age 11/12 – Freya Grey overall score of 78.00 coming 2nd position, Georgia Batten overall score of 77.70 coming 3rd, Carla Danby overall score of 76.05 coming 6th, Sadie Towell overall score of 75.00 coming 7th, Connie Woolhead overall score of 51.60 coming 8th.

Nikki Grundy, coach of the Harlequin team said: “The months and weeks leading to this competition the gymnasts work extremely hard.

“They all did fantastically on the day and we were proud of them all.”

Gymnasts who came first in each level will travel to Stoke on Trent for the Nationals in June.
