The three game winning streak came to an end for MK Hockey Club Ladies 1sts as they went down 2-1 to Maidenhead.

MK started the game well, keeping the ball and nosing in front.

However, they couldn’t hold on to the lead, allowing Maidenhead to quickly hit back with two of their own before half time.

MK tried to gain back the lead they had in the first half but couldn’t get a second goal, resulting in defeat.

There was disappointment for the Ladies 2nds too, who lost 1-0 to Oxford Hawks 4ths.

The match was end to end with both sides evenly matched.

There was some strong defending from Barbs Grove and player of the match Lizzie Dale .

But Oxford scored the only goal of the game with 20 minutes to go to secure victory.

The Ladies 3rds fought tooth and nail to snatch what would have turned out to be the winner against Oxford 5ths, but had to settle for a point in a 0-0 draw.

The defence of Carey Maitland-Lauderdale, Amy Hunt, Alice Bailey and Clare Carter were under pressure from the start.

MK saw more possession higher up the pitch getting some long corners and free hits outside the D but could not convert their chances.

There was better news for the Mens 2nds who were 5-3 winners against Bracknell.

Jamie Dodd and Mark Sibson each bagged a brace, with Martin Kavanagh netting the other.

But the Mens 3rds lost out by the odd goal in seven against Wallingford, despite an excellent hat-trick from Will Luther.
