Huddersfield target Dons striker Wilbraham
Top scorer catches the eye of League One rivals
Huddersfield Town are considering making an offer for MK Dons forward Aaron Wilbraham.
The big-spending Terriers are splashing the cash ahead of an assault on League One next season, having already paid out 300,000 to Coventry for striker Robbie Simpson and beat off competition to sign highly-rated defender Peter Clarke from Southend on a free transfer.
The Citizen understands that Town boss Lee Clark is now turning his attention to Dons' front man Wilbraham in a bid to guide Huddersfield back to the Championship.
The former Premier League midfielder has made wholesale changes at the Galpharm Stadium since taking over as boss in December, after the departure of Stan Ternent.
Ternent left the Yorkshire club following the arrival of Dean Hoyle as chairman and the life-long Terriers fan and owner of Card Factory is now bankrolling the club in a bid for promotion.
As well as the retirement of Andy Booth, Clark released strikers Daniel Broadbent and Danny Cadamarteri at the end of last season and is now thought to be in the market for another striker.
Huddersfield had also been linked with Carlisle's Danny Graham, although it's thought any potential move for him has been put on hold for now.
Wilbraham netted 17 times in 35 games for Roberto Di Matteo's men last season and Clark is believed to be a big fan of the striker.
And the Town manager has been quoted as saying about the 29-year-old: "He is on our radar like a number of other players and we have had him watched."
Wilbraham was born in the north-west and enjoyed spells with Oldham and Bradford after really making a name for himself at Stockport.
Meanwhile Miguel Llera looks set to become the third former Dons man to sign for another League One club this summer.
The Spanish centre-half is close to agreeing terms with Charlton after turning down an extension to his contract at stadium:mk last month.
The 29-year-old was said to be unsatisfied with the club's one-year offer, but could join Carl Regan and Mark Wright in signing for a team in the same division. Regan has signed for Bristol Rovers, while Wright has completed a move to Brighton.

The 30-year-old, who spent the majority of last season on the sidelines with an achilles injury, has agreed to a six-month contract extension. He has featured just twice for Dons under Di Matteo.
