Carr sets a date for his testamonial

Lightning skipper Adam Carr has put a date in the diary to mark his 10 years with the team.

The club originally announced two seasons ago that Carr would be granted a testimonial as a reward for a decade of service - but the confirmation that the Milton Keynes rink would close at the end of the 2012-13 season, and a subsequent season played out of the Skydome Arena in Coventry meant that plans were put on hold.

But now back in MK, Lightning and Carr were able to book Saturday April 11 to mark the occasion.

“It is a real honour to be awarded a testimonial - I’m really touched by the gesture”, said Carr. “I’ve invited a number of players to play for the All-star team and still have few more on my list - and I’m just blown away by the response from these guys.

“I know the fans will be delighted to see who will be lining up on the ice in MK again, as they are real legends. It would be great to pack the Arena so our fans can see these guys again and have a really special night!”
