Coach Andy Linton was delighted by the way the team went about their business in those final games, producing a high level of performance with the pressure on.

He said: “We always knew going into the our last three games that it would be tough.

“We needed five out of six points on offer to secure the championship, so it was going to go down to the last game.

“I’m so proud of the guys – they worked hard and deserved everything they got. They pulled together at the right time. I couldn’t be more pleased.

“They deserved it. Every player stepped their game up which contributed to the win.”
