Janne Jokila has announced he will leave MK Lightning after 16 months with the team.

Initially drafted in as a replacement when coach Nick Poole hung up his skates, Jokila played 81 times for Lightning, scoring a sensational 99 points, guiding the team to back-to-back fourth places in the EPL.

Head Coach Nick Poole thanked Janne for his services to the team.

He said: “Janne has unquestionable talent and I’d like to thank him for his time and efforts in Milton Keynes.

“Over the last year and a half he’s provided us with some great moments of skill, and I know all our supporters and the management would like to join me in wishing him well for the future, both on and off the ice.”
