Lightning let Czech ace go for unexplained reasons

MK Lightning have announced that they will not take up their option to sign Czech forward Kamil Tvrdek for the 2013-14 ice hockey season.

Tvrdek signed for the club in November 2012 as cover for the injured Adam Calder and made a significant impact for the remainder of their English Premier League campaign – memorably scoring a late winner on his debut against Slough Jets.

The club had an option to sign him for 2013-14 and agreed personal terms some time ago, but have now pulled out of the deal.

The club’s statement said: “In the best interests of the team, and for reasons that will remain within the club, the MK Lightning have decided not to pursue their interest in the player.”
