Fans of MK Lightning cast their eyes over the new look roster at a special meeting on Monday.
With the move back to Milton Keynes just over the horizon, nearly 200 Lightning supporters packed into David Lloyd, where the players train, to get the first glimpse of the new logo and jerseys the team will wear next season.
General Manager Vito Rausa updated the assembled fans on the progress of the rink refurbishment programme as it draws to a close.
He said the rink the club and the supporters return to on Saturday October 18 will barely resemble the one they left in Spring 2013, with Planet Ice provided the team with arguably one of the best ice sports arenas in the south.
The ‘Meet the Players’ evening gave supporters a chance to meet the Lightning roster that will contest the coming season’s games.
Many players were returning for another season in MKL colours but it was also a chance to greet new signings Milan Kostourek, Petr Horava and Lewis Hook for the first time .
The British core of the team has been back in training for several weeks, but the gathering gave supporters the chance to make their own final preparations, with the opportunity to secure one of the few remaining shirts available for individual sponsorship, buy season tickets and snap up a limited number of seats available on club transport to the team’s season opening game on the Isle of Wight on Saturday September 13, and their league fixture at Sheffield a week later.
