Milton Keynes Lightning has confirmed its pre-season challenge calendar, comprising undoubtedly hard-fought fixtures against EPL opposition.

Nick Poole’s side will contest a tough schedule of four fixtures in just eight days as preparation for the 2014-15 season.

The traditional pre-season battle for local pride known as the ‘Ashes’ games, against Peterborough Phantoms, take place on Saturday September 6 and Sunday September 7 - fixtures always well attended by both sets of supporters.

Bookending those games are two midweek fixtures - the first sees Lightning take on Swindon Wildcats on Wednesday September 3.

The team’s final pre-season preparation game will be against Telford Tigers on Wednesday September 10.

With the rink refurbishment work in its final stages ahead of the start of the English Premier League season, all matches will be played on the road, the Saturday game in Peterborough counting as Lightning’s ‘home’ game.

Face off against Phantoms on Saturday September 6 is at 7pm and the following day at 5.30pm.

Face off times and ticket prices for the Swindon and Telford fixtures are still to be announced.
