Lightning will face Slough Jets twice in their opening English Premier League play-off group matches – just eight days after playing them in their penultimate league game.

The full fixture list is: Sat Mar 22 v Slough (away) 6.30pm; Sun Mar 23 v Slough (home) 6pm; Sat Mar 29 v Swindon (home) 7pm; Sun Mar 30 v Swindon (away) 5.45pm; Sat Apr 5 v Bracknell (home) 7pm; Sun Apr 6 v Bracknell Bees (away) 6pm.

Before that Lightning have the none too small matter of playing the second leg of the EPL Knockout Cup Final against Peterborough Phantoms tonight (Thursday) at Planet Ice at 7.45pm.

Player coach Nick Poole believes victory in the cup final will give his side an important psychological boost going into the play-offs.

"The game against Peterborough is going to be really tough. It will be a huge result to win it because it will really lift us for the play-offs."

Poole revealed that several players have been playing with flu in recent games although Michael Wales was ruled out by it last weekend.

Meanwhile he is delighted that goalie Allen Sutton has agreed to step up from Milton Keynes Thunder to fill the breach left by David Wride who has a broken leg.
