Ince warns Saints: 'Don't count your chickens just yet'
Dons have nothing to fear in second leg - boss
Paul Ince admits his side will be a little battle-weary ahead of tonight's (Tuesday) JPT southern section final second leg at Southampton, but has vowed they will give it a go.
Dons were involved in a bruising encounter at Stockport County on Saturday on a heavy pitch that will surely have sapped the side of their energy.
An important 3-1 win made their efforts at Edgeley Park worthwhile though, and boss Ince says they will shrug off their fatigue and go to St Marys with nothing to fear as they look to over-turn the 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
"It's a horrible game because the pitch has taken a lot out of the lads' legs," he said.
"If you need to go to Southampton and win it is nice to go into the game on the back of a victory though. We have got nothing to fear, nothing to lose, we have just got to go and play football and enjoy ourselves. They are expected to go through but we will just see what happens."
Alan Pardew's side have won the two previous meetings between the sides this season and when Ince was asked about what needs to be done differently this time, he insisted not a great deal.
"I'll see what players we have got and make some decisions. I believe Jamma is suspended which doesn't help, but we will take stock and try and put together a team that can go down there and give it a go. Fingers crossed we'll come out on top."
Jermaine Easter is suspended on the back of his 10th booking of the campaign on Saturday while David McCracken is also doubtful for the game after he was withdrawn at half time with a calf injury.
Easter's suspension means Aaron Wilbraham will have to lead the line and Ince reserved special praise to the striker after his goal at Edgeley Park.
"He doesn't get the appreciation that he should from certain quarters of the fans, but we appreciate him and what he gives to Milton Keynes. He goes through the mill week in and week out and he loves the club and everything about it.
"We respect him and appreciate what he does for us, and when I saw him score that goal I must admit I got a little tingle inside."
