CITY Colts are back on top of the Premier Division after thrashing Great Linford 6-1, while previous leaders Great Horwood were in trophy action.
Colts’ away success puts them two points clear of Horwood – beaten 1-0 by Grendon Rangers in the Premier Division Trophy – but they have played two games more. And with the roles reversed this Saturday, the sides could swap positions once again.
Meanwhile Loughton Manor climbed to third place courtesy of a 5-1 win against Southcott Village, and the other Trophy tie saw MK Titans thrashed 5-0 by Thornborough.
There were also a couple of Interdivisional Trophy ties played – Bow Brickhill beating Brackley Sports 2-0 and Stantonbury Social Elite 2-1 winners against Yardley Gobion.
Woburn Sands Wanderers were able to take advantage of Bow Brickhill’s Trophy exploits as they climbed to the top of the Intermediate Division with a 6-1 thumping of Wolverton Town Res.
Elsewhere struggling Denbigh Hall Sports went down 3-0 to City Colts Res and AFC Santander beat Grendon Rangers Res 2-0.
There’s still no stopping Bow Brickhill Res who made it 13 wins out of 13 in Division One by seeing off Woughton 3-1. Their lead at the top is now 20 points after Great Linford Res lost 6-4 to Cage Athletic.
Stoke Hammond edged past Stewkley Res by the odd goal in five, Wicken Sports Res drew 1-1 with Charlton & District and Deanshanger Res fell 4-0 to Marsh Gibbon.
Comet MK made it nine wins out of nine in Division Two by beating Marsh Gibbon Res 5-1, but they remain second behind Great Horwood Res who drew 1-1 with Steeple Claydon. The gap at the top is now just one point and Comet have three games in hand.
Scot Youth also remain in the mix in third place after they saw off Wing Village 6-3, while there was a 6-0 success for MK Wanderers ‘A’ against Padbury Village Res and 7-1 defeat for St George’s at the hands of Yardley Gobion Res.
