A GP has a healthy taste for a challenge, as she takes on an epic challenge that is more than TWICE the length of a marathon.
Dr Siân Whyte, who is based at the Milton Keynes Village Practice, is taking on the Isle of Wight Challenge in aid of Willen Hospice.
This will see her tackle a 106km course around coast of the Isle of Wight, two-and-a-half the length of a marathon.
Dr Whyte said: “I was looking for a new challenge whilst on holiday in the Isle of Wight after completing the Shine Marathon walk in aid of Cancer Research last year. When I saw the IoW Challenge I signed up immediately and wanted to raise money for a local charity this time.
“Willen Hospice is such an amazing place and has helped friends and many of my patients in the past. I have always found it strange that hospices are entirely funded by charity rather than the NHS when they provide such a vital service, and want to raise as much money as possible.
“I have set myself a target of £1000 but would love to smash that.”
