Player ratings Vs Brentford: Strong show from the skipper as Dons get stung by Bees

editorial image

editorial image

David Martin – 7 – Made some vital saves to keep Dons in it, but parried too many shots, gifting Donaldson both goals.

Jon Otsemobor – 7 – Bravely soldiered on late in the second half as he nursed what looked like a groin injury, and defended well on the whole against the potent Forrester.

Dean Lewington – 7 – Largely untroubled. Strong in the tackle, full of running – a typical Lewington performance.

Antony Kay – 7 – Tracked Donaldson well for the most part, and kept close quarters with Trotta. Couldn’t be faulted for any of the goals.

Shaun Williams – 7 – Another cool performance from the defender, hard to put a finger on anything he did wrong.

Angelo Balanta – 6 – Didn’t really get going on either flank. A few misplaced passes and bad touches seemed to get the better of him.

Zeli Ismail – 5 – A rash challenge on Bidwell earned him a booking, and an early seat on the bench as Robinson replaced him with Powell after 25 minutes.

Luke Chadwick – 6 – A rare off-day for the midfielder. Struggled to make an impact on proceedings, Replaced by Smith.

Darren Potter – 6 – Smothered by Douglas, preventing him from pulling the strings in his usual fashion.

Stephen Gleeson – 6 - Was a step ahead of his team-mates in terms of quick one-twos, but took his goal brilliantly.

Ryan Lowe – 6 – Took his goal neatly, and almost added a second early in the second half, but didn’t see much of the ball as Dons sat back.

Subs:

Daniel Powell – 6 – Like Balanta, didn’t really get started in the game despite his earlier-than-expected appearance.

Alan Smith – 6 – Held the ball up well, but didn’t have much of an effect on play.

Charlie MacDonald – 6 – Barely touched the ball against his former club.

Top Don: Dean Lewington
