Jack Parslow set a new course record as he romped to victory in the Milton Keynes Marathon on Monday.
The Dacorum & Tring runner crossed the line in 2:37:26, a full five minutes ahead of Benfleet athlete Dan Carter in second.
Chris Brookman was the first MK runner over the line in 10th place, representing MK Lakeside Runners, in 2:50:31.
And the record tumbled in the ladies’ race too, as Kate Wright of Stratford Upon Avon AC crossed the line in 2:58:30.
And although there’s a busy week with the elections coming up, Olney Councillor David Hosking celebrating breaking the five hour mark, coming home in 4:57:59.
He said: “I am pleased to have finished the Marathon; it was tough going especially towards the end!
“I would like to thank all those who sponsored me and who have supported the Royal British Legion.”
