Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel got their Monaco Grand Prix weekend off to a good start, finishing third and fifth respectively in the first free practice session.

The Red Bull Racing pair showed they are still best of the rest as Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg led the way around the streets of Monte Carlo.

Ricciardo completed 37 laps, posting a best time of 1:18.506 which was good enough for third, while world champion Sebastian Vettel’s time of 1:19.043 was good enough for fifth, sandwiching Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso in fourth.
