Sebastian Vettel made a humble start to his home Grand Prix at Hockenheim on Friday, setting the sixth fastest time in the first free practice session.

The world champion, who won the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring last season, completed 26 laps and set a fastest time of 1:20.097, a little under a second behind behind compatriot Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes.

Daniel Ricciardo in the other Red Bull fared a bit better though, dipping into the 1:19s with a time of 1:19.697 in his 26 laps, good enough for fourth fastest.
