It was a weekend to forget for Jordan Stilp at Snetterton as he was given a time penalty and points on his licence for his part in an incident on track.
The racer from Potterspury was looking in good shape in race 1 of the Renault Clio Cup, in touch with the leaders as the pack rounded Agostini for the second time.
Mike Bushell was edged out wide while locked in battle with Stilp, the loss of momentum for the pole qualifier seeing him tumble down to seventh position.
Stilp, therefore, moved into third and set about pressuring Cook for the lead.
Quick through the infield, Stilp piled the pressure on Cook and on lap six, made a move on leader. But forced out wide, Stilp bounced across the grass, but kept his place and the inside line to take the lead.
The next time around at Palmer, though, Cook managed to move back to the front and the delay for Stilp on the outside line dropped him to fifth.
He would pull back one place before the end of the race, crossing the line fourth, but the drama was yet to come.
Stilp was given an eight second time penalty in relation to his part in an on-track incident as well as three points applied to his racing licence, triggering a three point deduction from his championship total, meaning he dropped from fourth to eighth in the amended race one results.
And it was a dissapointing race 2 for Stilp, taking seventh place.
He remains sixth in the championship standings.
