Youngster William Tregurtha escaped serious injury following a frightening crash at the latest round of the Ginetta Junior Cup last weekend.

Racing at the Rockingham Raceway in Corby, the Shenley Brook End teenager was battling for position in Saturday’s opening race when disaster struck.

Closely following behind the car in front, he was unsighted to a spun car in front.

Tregurtha was left with no time to react, plowing into the side of the stricken car, ending not only his race, but the damage ended his entire weekend too.

“You know you have had a bad weekend when the team take the car home in borrowed cardboard boxes from the Ginetta hospitality tent,” he tweeted later.
