Mark Webber has been on the podium 34 times but never at his home Grand Prix in Australia – so he hopes he can rectify that for Red Bull this Sunday.
The first race of the 2013 F1 season gets underway in Melbourne this weekend, and fans’ favourite Webber is keen to get the campaign going in style.
In his 11 races at Albert Park, Webber has suffered some torrid luck and has never finished higher than fourth place, which he did last year.
He said: “I’ve been on the podiums at most tracks around the world, and have won at quite a few circuits, and Melbourne is one that I would like to add to that.
“I want to perform well, so I’ll be focusing on myself and getting the job done. The champagne will taste even better in Melbourne if I get on the podium.”
