Milton Keynes racer Jeff Wyatt followed up his trio of class wins at Brands Hatch with a win and a 5th place finish at the latest rounds of the GT Cup Championship at Oulton Park in Cheshire.
Round seven of the 12 round national championship was a one day meeting consisting of two 25 minute races. Race one saw Wyatt finish 5th out of a field of nine cars from his GTA class, which made up the biggest class of the 23 car grid.
Mindful of his bad start to race one, Wyatt was determined to do better in race two, and quickly settled into 3rd place.
He slowly reeled in the Chevron of Darren Nelson and overtook him with a lovely move at turn one, and then took advantage of a mistake from Paul Fleurry in his Ginetta to go through and take the win.
The 25 points and fourth win of the season puts Wyatt in the lead of the GTA class and 2nd in the all overall standings. The next races are at Silverstone on August 17 and 18.
