Forward Mike to start enter his third year at the club
The Marshall Milton Keynes Lions have now re-signed another of last year's squad, former BBL All-Star Mike New.
The 6ft 9in power forward and centre will enter his third year and second spell with the Lions after playing in Milton Keynes in the 2002-03 season.
The new season will mark his 13th campaign in the British Basketball League, having previously turned out for Newcastle, Leicester, and Scottish Rocks among others, and, at 40, he was the league's oldest player last season.
Lions' chief executive and head coach Vince Macaulay said: "Mike is a work horse. He only knows how to give 100 per cent and as our academy director he is the perfect man to influence the youngsters who enter the MK College Basketball Academy.
"On court he lets the rest of the team know they will have to give of their best."
New had a dual role as assistant coach with the Lions last season then added the role of academy director.
Macaulay added: "Mike is a true professional. He has helped us in many areas."
Lions have already announced the return of point guard Terrell Brown and rookie Carl McNally.
Season tickets are now on sale and details are available online at mklions.com
The new BBL season starts on September 26 with a visit from the Cheshire Jets.
