East region success for local riders

editorial image

QUALITY BMX racing returned to Milton Keynes on Sunday with round four of the East Region Winter Series.

Held at the popular Pineham track in glorious spring sunshine, 106 riders took part from all over the region – 30 coming from Milton Keynes.

Among the strong performances from local riders were those of Luke Mendes who won the male 8-9 year-old category, Jack Leahy winning in the U16 ‘cruisers’ group and Izzy Ferrada taking second place in the male 14-16 class – despite being a teenage girl.

The next event in Milton Keynes will be round three of the Summer Series in May. For more information about BMX racing in the city, see www.mkbmx.com
