Miesha ready to flourish as a ‘Flower Girl’

editorial image

FIGURE skater Miesha Cooke Smith is only eight years old, but has already been a member of the National Development team for a year and has now been picked to represent her city as one of the ‘Flower Girls’ at the ISU European Figure Skating Championships.

All Flower Girls are required to be NISA level three or above and under 12 years of age, and Miesha is the only MK club skater to meet the criteria for this year’s event in Sheffield from January 23-29.

She is looking forward to the chance to get close to her heroines, and potentially pick up some tips before she flies out to Slovenia in early February to compete in the Tivoli Cup for the second time.

She will be competing against strong international competition in the ‘CUBS’ category for skaters born in 2002 or 2003 and will be hoping to improve on the 9th place she managed in her first international competition in 2010.
