A SUNNY but cold day greeted the riders for round nine of the Central CX League which returned to Hillingdon, location for the first round back in September.

In the U10s category it was Alexander Russell’s turn to come out on top for Team MK – finishing in front of Alex Wetherill in 2nd place.

The result means that, with one round to go, Alexander will take the overall series win.

Jude Chamberlain had his best result of the year, finishing in 5th place, with Ruben Snelson back in 10th.

A close battle between Noah Tresham and Skip Snelson took place in the U12s race, with the riders exchanging positions several times throughout the race.

Noah managed to overtake him on the last lap to earn 7th place, with Skip in 8th and Lewis Muncaster finishing 9th after crashing on the first corner of the race.

In the girls race, Aimee Zygo finished in 4th place.

Jacob Tresham managed to snap his rear derailleur on the last lap and walked across the line, carrying the bike to finish 10th in the U14s. Thomas Zygo was 12th and Ben Wetherill 15th.

In the girls category, Lauran Murphy returned with another win, extending her overall series lead.

Buauna Ball had to settle for 2nd place in the U16s which was good enough to see him secure the overall series win with still one round remaining.

In the Senior/Vets/Womens race, Mike Wragg was the highest Team MK finisher in 15th. The only other club finisher was Christina White after John Muncaster fell victim to a mechanical problem after 40 minutes of racing.

Christina finished 4th in the women’s category which was good enough for her take overall victory in the series.
