It might be an unusually hot October, but two young skiiers from Milton Keynes are looking forward to some snow.
So far, 2013 has been an amazing year for nine-year-old Zachary Metheringham and eight-year-old Kayne Stanway on the indoor ski race scene.
In their first year of competitive ski racing, Zac and Kayne have been dominating the Under 10 Boys level and taken the podium by storm.
Kayne from Broughton Manor Prep School School, has recently won the Under 10 British Indoor Race Series and was nominated Most Promising Under 10 Skier from the series. He also enjoyed success at a number of races bringing home winner’s trophies from Castleford, Manchester and Glasgow.
Zachary, from The Grove Independent School, this year has won at Under 10 level, the Snowsport GBR Atomic Indoor Race Series with three wins out of six races to add to his first place in the SnowSport Scotland Scottish Championships, the SnowSports England British Championships, and the British Independent School Ski Indoor Championships.
Out of 15 races, Zac has taken top step on the Under 10 podium on 11 occasions in indoor ski races across the country.
Both boys train with the Ski MK Race Team and with Gravity Snowsports at the SnoZone MK.
