Poulter's back in the swing at Woburn

The Ian Poulter Junior Invitational

Less than 24 hours after finishing his final round to take second spot at The Open Championship, Milton Keynes-based golfer Ian Poulter presented the winning trophies and chatted with the crowd after the Ian Poulter Junior Invitational at Woburn Golf Club.

Poulter, who now looks set to be picked in the European squad for the Ryder Cup in September, encouraged all questions from the players and their parents while demonstrating the skills that saw him pocket a cheque for 450,000 at Royal Birkdale.

Poulter has been attached to the club as touring professional since 2003 and this is the third year the club has hosted the Ian Poulter Junior Invitational.

As well as answering questions about life on the professional golf circuit, Poulter also explained the thinking behind the launching of his 'Ian Poulter Design' clothing range.

"If I wasn't a professional golfer I'd probably design clothes for a living. It means as much to me as golf does, " he said.

"The key to life is focussing your mind 100 per cent on what you want to achieve. If you can concentrate on that then you can achieve anything, " he said.
