SEBASTIAN Vettel and Mark Webber will be hoping that their new car will be yet another world beater as Red Bull Racing prepare to unveil the RB8 on Monday.

With the new Formula 1 season starting in just two months, teams are beginning to pull the covers off their new contenders ahead of the first pre-season test in Jerez, Spain next week.

Pictures of the RB8 will be unveiled on the team’s website on Monday before the car, in the hands of Webber, makes it’s first official laps at the Spanish circuit on Tuesday.

Regulation changes for the 2012 season are relatively minor to those in previous seasons and many expect the Tilbrook team to continue their incredible form into the new season.

The RB8 will have to go some way to beat the dominance of last season’s championship winning car, the RB7. In the safe hands of Vettel and Webber, Red Bull won 12 of the 19 races and secured 18 pole positions as they dominated the F1 Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships.

However, Vettel could face a far sterner challenge to his crown in 2011 than he did last season, with no fewer than five previous F1 World Champions – Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button – all lining up on the grid, eager to take his title from him.

The first round of the new season, which could feature 20 races, begins in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday March 18.
