Milton Keynes Water Polo Club narrowly missed out on a win over neighbours Dunstable last week.
With the close rivalry between the teams, both sides knew it would be a hard game but especially for MK with players unavailable, so they only had one substitute te.
MK got off to a flying start with 2 early goals but a close first quarter ended 2-1 with Dunstable’s getting a goal back just seconds before the end.
Dunstable must have had a fantastic team talk as they ended the 2nd quarter having added three goals without reply.
This quarter ultimately decided the game but MK never gave up. In the final two quarters both teams defended well with their only being a further one goal from each side per quarter.
The mame ended 4-6 to Dunstable with perhaps the best goals coming from Whidborne for MK and Williams for Dunstable.
The team train at Stantonbury Campus between 8pm and 10pm on Thursdays, with new players welcome.
