Bletchley Ladies’ incredible winning streak continued on Sunday as they brushed past Medway Ladies 12-5 in the Junior Cup.
Losing in the semi-finals last season, Bletchley haven’t lost a game since and were in no mood to lose after the long journey to Kent.
Both sides had chances to take the lead, but it took until shortly before half time before Medway intercepted a Rachael Taylor pass to break through and open the scoring at 5-0.
But after a stirring team-talk at the interval, Bletchley burst out for the second half and were soon back on level terms as Caroline Collie stole the ball from a ruck to race up the field, levelling it at 5-5.
Bletchley were back to their best again, and forced Medway back inside their own 22 in a bid to take the lead.
Winning a try five metres out, Emma Taylor picked up from the back, popped the ball to Rachael Taylor who spotted a hole and ran through to touchdown between the posts.
Getting up and doing the business with the boot, Rachael Taylor kicked Bletchley to 12-5.
With just a converted try in it, Medway thought they’d taken a huge step towards getting back on level terms, but Emma Taylor managed to get a vital hand under the ball to keep it up as Bletchley managed to hold on to book a spot in the next round.
