Milton Keynes RUFC have an extra motivation to try and win promotion this year following the death of inspirational club president John Silk.

‘Silky’ passed away at the age of 70 on Sunday and wife Ann has been inundated with messages of support, flowers and cards since – testament to the popularity of the man.

Funeral arrangements and details about how the club will honour him have not yet been confirmed. In the meantime City travel to Buckingham on Saturday determined to win and take another big step towards promotion from the Southern Counties North league this season.

John was a true gentleman and will be sadly missed by all who know him, including his friends at the Citizen.
