City must wait to secure promotion

Milton Keynes missed out on the chance to clinch promotion into Southern Counties North after losing to third placed Tadley 27-22.

City got off to a slow a start and found themselves 15 points down in the first 20 minutes, that coupled with injury to outside centre James Blackham put MK under some pressure.

City battled hard and fought back and at the end of the first half following scores from Brian Purcell (pen), Jack Linthwaite (try) MK was trailing 15-8.

The second half ebbed and flowed but unfortunately further scores from Dan Rolfe (try), Rob Lasbrey (try) and Purcell (two conversions) was not enough and final score went Tadleys way 27-22.

MK now travel to Chipping Norton to hopefully secure their promotion.
