Olney made no mistakes against bottom club Northampton BBOB on Saturday, crusing to a 27-3 victory against their neighbours.
It took the visitors just 10 minutes to get their first score of the afternoon as Brendan Kerr crashed over. James Hawken kicked the extras.
Hawken kicked a penalty before Olney were penalised at the scrum, offering BBOB a simple kick for goal which saw the home side on the scoreboard, albeit 10-3 down at half time.
Despite some stern defending from BBOB, Olney were very much on the front foot for most of the second half.
But it took 18 minutes to finally cross the line again. After a series of scrums and line outs, Olney won the ball from a scrum, the ball was passed to Ben Hoyles, at 13 for Olney, who made a break and passed to Jon Brice to score, Hawken added the conversion easing the visitors ahead 17-3.
Hawken’s boot added another penalty before Olney won a line out and drove the ball over the goal line forPaddy Leahy to touch down. Hawken was again on target to make the victory margain 27-3.
Olney move up to eighth in the Midlands 2 East South division, and take on Northampton Old Scouts this Saturday.
