There were more than 100 people in attendance to celebrate 20 years of women’s rugby at Olney Rugby Club.

Set up originally by the wives and girlfriends of male players at the club, the ladies team has blossomed throughout the years and will be competing this forthcoming season in the National Championship Midlands 1 league.

At the Awards Dinner, Player of the Year went to Alison Taylor whilst Alex Townsend was named Most Improved Player. Jen Micklewright was awarded the Tanya Cartmell Shield, an award voted for by the ladies team and which was established in memory of a former player who passed away last year.

The team trains every Wednesday at 7pm. For more information, contact Jen on 07791 877733.
