Akeley Wood School got their hands on the trophy after winning Stowe’s first swimming gala earlier this month.

Taking on students from Swanbourne School and Beachborough, the swimmers from Akeley Wood showed no signs of nerves in front of a packed house of cheering fans.

The Akeley Wood team made a strong start to the competition, with all of the swimmers showing great strength in their events.

Beachborough didn’t make it easy for the Akeley pupils and they were always just a stroke or two behind and steadily collecting points.

Three age groups, U9s, U11s and U13s, put in a fabulous effort, fighting their way through to win after win.
