Rafe and Ellis shine for Newport

Newport Pagnell Swimming Club were represented at both the youth and age group regionals during the month of May in Portsmouth and Crawley.

All swimmers swam very well with all matching or improving on their PBs.

While several swimmers reached the finals, two came away with medals. Rafe Dobson took silver in the 200m breaststroke, as did Ellis Stephenson in the 50m backstroke.

Coach Lisa Salmon said: “We’re very proud of all these swimmers and their achievements. We are now looking forward to the up and coming meets to finish the season.”

The full team was made up of: Rafe Dobson, Ellis Stephenson, Rhiannon Jefferies, Alex Meijer, Joseph Staphert, Barbara de Konning, Bronwyn Tagg, Sophie Patrick, Dominic Frost, Kaity Grose, Amber Denton, Hannah Cheval, Jason Ashley, Jack Meijer and Jonathan Parapadakis.
