A young team from City of Milton Keynes Swimming Club were against tough opposition at Aylesbury’s Aquavale Pool for the second round of the Junior League Division Two recently.
The nine-year-old girls’ relay team helped to push up the points in the relays, winning both their medley and freestyle events and gave the team a good start.
But it was in the individual races where the best results were gained with nine first places achieved.
The intense heat did not deter efforts and there were some excellent swims from both the newcomers to this league and the more experienced swimmers.
However, the might of Nottingham’s Leander was hard to beat and that team finished with a convincing lead with CMKSC taking third place, just three points behind runners-up Aylesbury.
First Places went to: Girls 9yrs 4 x 25m freestyle & medley relay team; Charlotte Folkes, Girls 12U 50m butterfly & Girls 12U 50m freestyle; Marcus McCauliffe, Boys 11U Boys 50m butterfly & Boys 11U 50m freestyle; Jame Hanns, Boys 11U 50m backstroke; Annabelle Sivils Girls 25m breaststroke; Brayden Ditchfield-Watkins, Boys 10yrs 50m backstroke; Matthew Sturgess, Boys 10yrs 50m freestyle; Edith Patey, Girls 11U 50m breaststroke.
