Greenleys Monarchs return to the top of MK Table Tennis League’s Premier Division after a routine 10-0 trouncing of already relegated MK Powers.
Dan Appanna, Nigel Metcalfe and Martin Hall all scored maximums to help their side to victory.
MK Spinners are trailing by one point after negotiating a tricky fixture with MK Sasaki to win 6-4.
With half their squad missing Spinners still ran out 6-4 winners though, thanks to Alan Cherry’s customary treble, a brace from Craig Brown and reliance on their impeccable doubles record together. Charles Philippe picked up Sasaki’s other point with a good win over Craig.
MK Phoenix’s Gerald Ridgway and Terry Lau had terrific wins against MK Walking Wounded’s Ryan Murphy but these were Phoenix’ only successes as WW ran out 8-2 winners with maximums from Dave Murphy and Neil Riddy.
Greenleys Kings and MK Kingpins played out a hard fought draw with four players on two sets a-piece.
This week’s fixtures leaves the bottom three places confirmed for the season as they now stand.
Kings have long been in splendid isolation in sixth place.
Below them, Powers and Phoenix are destined to return to Division 1.
