The search goes on for Lions boss

Basketball club now have until end of the month

MK LIONS chief executive Vince Macaulay says the club remains a long way off securing a home for the British Basketball League season, but he has identified a number of potential sites.

The club became homeless for a second time in as many years last week when a deal with thecentre:mk to play their home matches at Middleton Hall fell through just a month before the start of the new BBL Championship campaign.

Macaulay says he's left no stone unturned in a bid to keep Lions in the city and has this week visited a number of potential warehouse sites which could be converted to house professional basketball.

"We have seen a few places and we'll have news on price costings back soon," explained Macaulay.

"We need to get a deal done for at least three years. We've learnt the hard way and can't afford to be in this position again."

Lions have received a boost with the news that the BBL will now allow them until the end of the month to confirm where they will play their home games.

But Macaulay admits the club still needs a lot of help to hit that deadline, with complications over planning procedures set to delay any move by a number of weeks.
