Tubb sees Brickhill to Twenty20 victory

Brickhill Challenge Cup

Great Brickhill CC secured a 67-run win over Stony Stratford in Friday's Twenty20 clash at Rotten Row.

The teams were playing for the Brickhill Challenge Cup, with the match the match sponsored by Proline Building Management and Manor Farm Developments.

There was the usual razzamatazz with a PA system running throughout, coloured kits, power-plays and a white ball.

Northants League Premier Division Stony Stratford fielded ex-Zimbabwe Test star Dion Ebrahim who faced Brickhill's overseas star, former Australian Under 19 and Tasmanian Tigers all-rounder Shannon Tubb.

Brickhill batted first and scored 151 all out with Tubb scoring a superb 90 while for Stony the pick of the bowlers were Nick Allen with 4-31 and Pete Mitchell with 3-14.

Stony were bowled out for 84 in their reply with Dave Avery the only player to get into double figures with 21.

For Brickhill Rob Hastings claimed 4-20 with Nick Tweed taking 3-8 from four overs.

The evening entertainment included a barbecue, raffle and bouncy castle, kindly donated by Childs Play.
