VIDEO: Hereford 0-1 MK Dons
Mark Wright's superb winner three minutes from time extended Dons' record winning run to eight games, against ten man Hereford.
Dons struggled to break down the determined home side, who had Steve Guinan bizarrely sent off on the stroke of half time.
And the Bulls looked good for a draw, keeping Dons at bay for most of the second half until Wright's late strike.
The home side were out of the blocks far quicker than Dons and almost took the lead on just six minutes. Willy Gueret doing well to charge down Theo Robinson after a neat ball put the on-loan Watford youngster through on goal.
The Dons continued to struggle and Hereford had another great chance ten minutes later when John McCoombe's hanging back post header was somehow clawed out of goal by Gueret.
It took Dons 27 minutes to register their first decent effort on goal, Alan Navarro bursting through midfield well, but his shot from the edge of the box was scuffed into the hands of 'keeper Wayne Brown.
Two minutes later Drissa Diallo then had a good effort after Dean Lewington's free-kick missed everyone the ball fell to the defender at the back post, but he couldn't keep his half-volley down.
Then in a trio of good chances the unlikely Danny Swailes just volleyed wide from 20 yards.
The Dons were now in charge of the game and Leon Knight almost got on the score sheet but his scorching left foot volley from Wilbraham's knock down just fizzed wide on 39 minutes.
Then four minutes into stoppage time Hereford's Guinan was very harshly sent off for hacking down Lloyd Dyer, a full forty yards away from goal, and with three other covering defenders nearby.
The Dons were all over Hereford at the start of the second half. Carving out a superb chance on 51 minutes when Dyer cut inside well and fizzed a cross to the back past that Knight somehow shot wide from point blank range.
But after a frantic start the Bulls started to get back in the game and a few dangerous set-pieces put the Dons under pressure.
They home side continued to hassle well and looked hard to break down as Dons struggled to make their advantage pay.
Even the introduction of Jemal Johnson and Bally Smart failed to light up the Dons.
It seemed like Hereford were going to hang on for what would have been a deserved point, but on 87 minutes Mark Wright smashed home from 8 yards after Wilbraham's superb knock-down.
